Indigenous, provincial, territorial and municipal policing
We are responsible for managing the contract policing business line, providing services to the three territories and eight provinces, as well as 150 municipalities and First Nations communities, under 20-year Police Service Agreements.
Our aim is to improve community safety and well-being and to deliver culturally responsive policing services.

Body-worn cameras
Ensuring that Canadians feel protected by and have trust in the RCMP. Body-worn cameras can help increase trust between police and the communities they serve.
Community policing
Building relationships with the community through interactions with local agencies and members of the public, creating partnerships and strategies for reducing crime and disorder.
Contract policing
The RCMP currently provides contract policing services to eight provinces, three territories and some 150 municipalities in Canada.
Crime prevention
Providing Canadians with information on effective ways to prevent and reduce crime. We work closely with partners and stakeholders to develop and implement programs that target specific crimes.
Human trafficking
Human trafficking is a crime that exploits victims for sex or forced labour. It is important to learn how to recognize human trafficking to help prevent and respond to it.
Indigenous policing
We are committed to building a renewed relationship and trust with Indigenous communities we serve.
Police intervention
Our goal during any interaction with the public is to de-escalate. We want to have a peaceful resolution, without using police intervention options.
Police-initiated public safety alerts
These alerts can provide direction to the public on how to stay safe by guiding them on what to do, where to go and what to expect.
Relationship violence
Learn more about the signs and forms of violence in relationships, and how to help prevent and respond to it.
Reconciliation
We are actively engaging in the continuous process of reconciliation and working to strengthen trust and relationships with First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities.
Traffic safety
Working together to reduce motor vehicle crashes, and to motivate citizens of the community to voluntarily comply with traffic regulations.
Victim services
Ensuring victims of crime receive the support they need without delay. We provide referrals to victim services programs across Canada.
Youth
Reducing youth involvement in crime, both as victims and offenders. We help communities motivate youth to think critically and build skills that support positive decision making.
